Wishy Washy
For my inaugural design project at RISD, "Wishy Washy," I delved into the feelings that come with being an international college freshman, and the sense of disorientation that often accompanies this transition. Since I had to learn to use washing machines for the first time upon my arrival to college, to me, they were portals to the unknown. I was intrigued by them. Alternatively, I found it incredibly strange to adjust to the new showers- I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable being so vulnerable and alone in my alien environment.  In "Wishy Washy," I aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgia, wonder, and perhaps a hint of apprehension—all through a washing machine and a shower.
