These photographs are a memorialization of my late grandmother and her household. Additionally, I made an audio project that explored the history of India, from its Partition in 1947 to 2022, through the personal histories of my Nani, my father, and I, woven through the music of our eras. Titled “India, Music, my Nani, my Dad and I”, it is an extension of these photographs, and is an attempt to sonically reconstruct the worlds of three generations of my family as we share our different perceptions of and visions for India.
