Art — Anant Saraf
Anant Saraf is an interdisciplinary artist and technologist in the Brown | RISD dual degree program, studying Computer Science at Brown University and Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. Born and raised in Kolkata, India and based in Providence, RI, he makes images across photography, sound, installation, and historical and alternative processes, often treating the photographic medium itself as material. His practice moves between the poetic and the technical to explore memory, displacement, and the ways technology reshapes identity, belief, and collective myth. Working with image-manipulation algorithms, obsolete media, and lens-based imagery, he moves between making photographs and making things from them, including systems, objects, sound, and installations that test how images carry memory, belief, and meaning.
This website is Anant’s portfolio of fine art.
